Why not use the Food and Mood Try this quiz to encourage people to interact with a display of Food and Mood try this postcards or posters? You are welcome to copy the quiz from the web page, or download a free copy as a pdf file.

How about enhancing a postcard or poster display with food or kitchen items? See below for a list of Try this display items relating to each topic area.

People could win these items in a competition or prize draw! Encourage people to participate by using their answer sheets as a competition or prize draw entry form - just add a few lines for the person’s name and address. Remember to say when the competition ends or the prize draw will be made.

As people fill in their details you could ask them to tick a box to say if they are interested to receive information about joining a Food and Mood Group or attending a Food and Mood Workshop.

Try This display/prize items

Here are some suggestions for non-perishable items to start you off. These are related to each of the ten postcard/poster topic areas.

Water
Water filter jug, bottles of mineral water, set of glasses.

Caffeine
Teapot, selection of herbal teas, selection grain drinks e.g. Barley Cup, Yannoh.

Carbohydrates
Low GI recipe book (e.g. The Holford low GL Diet Cookbook or Antony Worrall Thompson’s GI Diet), selection of wholemeal pasta/spaghetti, brown rice.

Protein
Voucher from organic butchers, vegetarian cookbook (e.g. Vegetarian Cooking Without by Barbara Cousins), voucher from heath food shop.

Additives
Smoothie maker, ‘New E for Additives’ by M Hanssen & J Marsden, Bottles/cans additive free fruit/veg juice, additive free sweets.

Essential fats
Voucher from fish mongers, tins oil rich fish, fish oil supplement (e.g. Equazen’s Eye-Q) or vegetarian omega-3 oil supplement, packets of nuts and seeds.

Breakfast
Organic porridge oats, meusli, sugar-free jam, nut butters, tahini.

Gut health
Relaxation CD, probiotic supplement, packet of linseeds.

Fruit & veg
Voucher for veggie box, multi-vitamin and mineral supplement, sprouting kit

Food intolerance
Rye crackers, wheat free pasta, oatcakes, wholefood café/restuarant voucher.
